TMT - HEAT TREATMENT

MOLDRUP-SSP (Superheated Steam under Pressure)

TMT is recommended for hardwoods and some softwoods.

Properties of TMT treated wood: 

Increased dimensional stability (30 – 50% improvement)

• Protection of wood against rot and fungi to risk classes 2, 3 & 4 (exterior cladding, decking, fencing)
• Colouring the wood to a pleasant uniform brown appearance
• Removing colour defects from wood
• Lowering the equilibrium moisture content

Plant data:

SMOKE TREATMENT

under vacuum

Smoke treatment is recommended for all tannin-containing species like oak and eucalyptus.

Properties of Smoke Treated wood:

• Pleasant brown to almost black colour
• Improved dimensional stability
• No strength loss
• Good colour stability
• Removing colour-defects from wood

Only the heartwood is coloured. The sapwood does not colour.
